It’s one of the greatest times to be alive because we have access to any information we ever need to make highly educated decisions to produce our desired outcomes.

Yet, I would have you consider we have become one of the most distracted generations that have ever walked the face of this planet.

We are constantly bombarded with ads, screens, thoughts and ideas.

One of the consequences of all this information is constantly feeling like an imposter.

Maybe you can relate to this?

I work with many business owners who run profitable companies and, from the outside looking in, have “success.”

Yet most days, when they are honest with themselves, internally they feel like a fraud because are constantly comparing themselves to other people in their industry.

As a result, their sales start to suffer because they lack confidence in what they do and their current business model.

One of the best ways to increase your confidence and put an end to feeling like a fraud is discipling your mind daily.

That’s why I advise all the people I work with to start practicing meditation each day.

What is Meditation?

According to Wikipedia, meditation is a practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content, or as an end in itself.

Meditation is not some type of religion. It’s a simple practice anyone can use to help calm their thoughts.

The average person has any where from 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day.

Since you’re probably an entrepreneur, I would argue you have as many as 100,000 thoughts per day because you’re not average.

Some of these thoughts are empowering and some of these thoughts are disempowering.

Many people argue, your thoughts dictate your actions. This is the whole idea behind the concept of the power of positive thinking.

Yet, the reality is you cannot control what thoughts enter your mind and absolutely no one only has positive thoughts enter their minds all day long.

This is why I would have you consider, if you do not learn to control your mind, your mind controls you.

Every single person on this planet has limiting thoughts enter their mind.

The only difference between those who get what they want in this life from those who do not, is their ability to proactively choose what thoughts they want to listen to.

When you learn how to discipline your mind using meditation and only listen to the empowering thoughts, presence, focus, intention and peace become the new normal for you.

As a result of having presence, focus, intention and peace, your confidence levels about yourself and what you do increase.

Then when you have more confidence, your ability to attract higher paying clients and close more sales increases because the world gives you exactly what you “are.”

If you are trying to “prove” to people you are the best at what you do, this means the truth is you do not believe you are because you are trying to “prove” you are.

If you really believed you were the best at what you do, you wouldn’t need to “prove” anything to anyone. Instead, you would just go about life executing on your sales and marketing efforts knowing with absolute confidence you can get results for the right types of clients.

The world will give you exactly what you are at your core.

How to Use Meditation

One thing to keep in mind is meditation is not magical. It is not some magic pill to save you from life.

Nothing and no one can save you. You can only save yourself.

When using these guided meditations, do not have any expectations. There is not a right way or wrong way to use these meditations.

Instead, allow yourself to be completely present with the moment while you listen to these meditations.

Simply just take slow deep belly breathes.

If you don’t know how to Belly Breath, here’s how to do it:

I would recommend using the morning mediation each morning and spread the other two throughout your day.

There is an old zen adage that says something like…

“You should meditate for 20 minutes a day, unless you’re too busy. If you’re too busy, then you should meditate for an hour.”

When I first started looking into the idea of mediation, I thought this didn’t make sense at all.

I thought in order to be highly productive and profitable, I needed to do more “work.”

Maybe you feel the same way?

I’ve discovered there is massive power in being able to take a pause throughout the day.

In fact, when I truly take time to pause each day, I actually accomplish more.

You’ll be able to do the same.
