July was a chaotic month for me. Lots of commitments. Possibly a little too much.

Let me give you some perspective…

I travel to Washington D.C in August for a week with my family, Sarah and I travel to Romania for 17 days during September (this means I pretty much do not work for a month), we are in the process of closing on our first real estate investment, plus weekly date nights, growing a business, content creation and of course personal self care.

For me…this is a NEW game to keep ALL of this moving forward at ONE time.

So many times as entrepreneurs and high producers we are very good at moving ONE area of our lives forward quickly. Whether this be business, our bodies, our relationships, etc.

Yet when we move ONE area of our lives forward, we tend to neglect the other areas of our lives. Often this leaves us frantically putting out the fire in the area in our life that’s about to burn to the ground.

I will not continue to repeat this pattern. I refuse. This is why I set these 8 goals publicly.

The Monthly Results

MONEY:
1. I am easily making $10,000 or more in the month of July 2015.

I didn’t hit my goal of $10K for the month. I only sold $5,733 of products and services.

I’ll work towards the $10K goal again next month.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH:
2. I am attending Fellowship Church every Sunday in the month of July 2015.

I made it to two Sundays and started rehearsing with their band. I LOVE going to Fellowship Church.

Personally, I can go every Sunday. Sarah on the other hand, sometimes doesn’t want to.

We grew up very differently. I’m all about serving my relationship with Sarah and making it the most epic relationship we both can have.

We are in the process of dialoging about this to find what would serve us both.

FITNESS:
3. I have perfect attendance for the Man Maker Challenge for the month of July 2015

I totally failed on hitting my goal here. I made it 8 solid days (I wasn’t 100% all in on this).

Here’s what happened…Sarah has been wanting to work out together. In order to do this, it means we would have to wake up at 5am.

Sarah can’t stand early mornings and I really can’t either. So it became this…tomorrow it will happen. As you well know, tomorrow never comes.

I really had to look at this one because I could MAKE myself go in the afternoons and then it would hinder us spending time together.

Plus, I found my body’s energy levels are almost nonexistent right now.

I made a decision, do I honor my commitment to myself and push my body to do the work or do I explore how I can make this a win/win?

I CHOSE to explore the possibilities.

What did I discover?

1. My body is extremely tired, I have no energy or drive, so my hormones may be off. I’m going to the doctor to get all my levels checked out in August 2015 and am working with a coach to help me optimize my hormones and create a custom workout plan that suits ME.

2. Sarah and I will hit the gym together in the afternoons from now on.

FAMILY:

4. I am texting a funny meme to my brother and sister every day for the month of July 2015.

Holy shit…finding daily memes is no joke. I had no idea how hard it would be after 2 weeks to continue to find relevant memes I could send my brother and sister.

This was a lot of fun though. I didn’t make it the whole month but did make it for about 24 days.

This simple exercise actually brought my brother, sister and I closer.

In fact, my brother randomly started sending me a relevant funny meme the other day.

Next month, I’m going to try a slight variation to this.

ROMANCE:
5. I am buying Sarah a gift once a week in the month of July 2015.

Epic fail here. Sarah and I did have our weekly date night though. This goal made me realize how much of a cheap ass I can be. How’s that for honesty and vulnerability?

Jesus said, “The Truth shall set you free.” I’m willing to get raw and real to experience TRUE freedom.

I have a huge mindset of scarcity.

Once I realized this, I had a conversation with Sarah about it. The scarcity goes back to everything we have going on. I just want to make sure we have all the money we need to hit our travel and investment goals we are currently working on.

Yet…what difference does it make if we can travel the world, have epic real estate investment deals, if Sarah and I don’t have an AMAZING relationship?

Just to clarify here…Sarah and I do have a wonderful relationship. Yet like anything else, I want to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Next month, I’m going to get more clear on this and say something like…I will buy Sarah flowers once a week.

That’s a baby step in the right direction for me.

SOCIAL LIFE:
6. I host a Beers N Bros at Top Golf for my entrepreneurial friends in Dallas in July 2015.

I didn’t end up hosting a get together at Top Golf but I did have an epic meet up at Cedar Creek Brewery. Sarah, many of my friends and I hung out for 5+ hours having amazing conversations, indulging in some tasty craft beer and listened to some local music. It was a blast!

It made me realize how much I really enjoy hanging out with a BIG group of fun people. I want to start doing this at least once a month from now on.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
7. I am reading a chapter a day from A Return to Love.

I didn’t ready EVERY day. I think I may have missed like 5 days out of the month. However, I’m almost finished with the book now. I just have 51 pages to go at the time of this blog post.

This book has radically shifted how I’m showing up for the month of August 2015 and beyond. I realized how much I show in fear instead of living and creating from a place of faith and trust.

Up to this point, I’ve always worried about not being enough and having to prove my worth to everyone. That now changes.

It’s going to be a lot to take on, but it will be done.

BUSINESS:
8. I am hosting a daily Periscope training during the week about using Twitter in July 2015.

I had a blast doing this and really learned a lot about the platform.

Here are my results:

  • 836 New Followers
  • 57,347 Hearts
  • 225 New Leads

All of this was with NO promotion. Just simply showing up and teaching on Periscope, Monday through Friday when I had an open time in my calendar.

I’ll be continuing to do a daily #Scope. That’s for sure. So follow me on Periscope. My handle is @ajamyx.

My Take Aways

I need to set smaller goals and focus on hitting base hits each month in my life.

I must stop trying to hit a home run in each area every single month. Base hits consistently, every single month add up to an AMAZING year and epic life.

It becomes the ultimate COMPOUND EFFECT.

Thank you Garret J. White and the rest of the brothers at Wake Up Warrior for teaching me these concepts and helping me SEE the TRUTH.

My ego says…small goals are weak and you simply just are not committed enough.

My light says…stop beating the shit out of yourself and chill the fuck out. You got this. Let’s simplify and CRUSH.

I love my light. 🙂

I have new goals for August 2015. Click here to check them out.

My hope is this inspires you to take on your life and business in a whole new way.

Let’s rock it my friends!

Peace,
