There’s a lot of talk in the entrepreneurial world to level up your mindset.

Some may even believe they need to go out and acquire the mindset in order to be successful.

I would have you consider having the perfect mindset to be successful, doesn’t exist.

Instead, the journey to becoming aware and controlling your mind in each moment is the name of the game.

One of the ways to do this is to ask yourself empowering questions because empowering questions help you receive empowering answers.

Awaken The Giant Within

Every single human being on the planet has more than 50,000 thoughts a day enter their minds.

Some people make the mistake thinking they need to slow down their thoughts or stop their thoughts.

Yet the reality is you will never be able to do this.

Rather you can learn to become aware of your thoughts and choose which ones you would like to give your attention to.

One of the most influential people, who taught me this concept, was Tony Robbins.

If you don’t know Tony, you’re missing out. He’s one of the top transformation coaches on the planet and wrote Awaken the Giant Within.

T Ro (that’s what I call Tony Robbins) changed my life. If it wasn’t for his book and concepts in 2010-2011, I don’t know where I would be today.

I may have died.

One of the biggest concepts I pulled from his book was the power of asking quality questions.

Getting Real With You

During 2010 I lost pretty much everything I had ever known about my life. The only thing not affected at that point was my health and mind.

Thankfully, I had those two things.

I could have decided to ask myself why my parents got a divorce after 25 years of marriage, why my girlfriend at the time broke up with me, why my truck kept breaking down, why my business wasn’t growing fast enough, why my band broke up after receiving multiple record offers, but…

…I didn’t.

Instead, I choose to ask, “What can I learn from this?”

At first, my ego and emotions said, “Nothing!”

Again, I choose to ask, “What can I learn from this because I refuse to accept anything other than good for me?”

At first, nothing came.

For weeks…nothing came.

Then suddenly I started to feel the answers.

Some people may hear the answers. I don’t. I feel them.

In that moment I felt I needed to stop leading like a tyrant and instead slow down and learn how to truly connect with people.

Learn how to empathize with them. Learn how to be compassionate.

I learned there is a difference between being a tyrannical leader and having people get things done out of fear (which isn’t sustainable) and being a servant leader, where people love working for you and feel respected and part of the team.

I learned how to harness the power of language and communicate in grey rather than black and white.

These insights transformed my life, gave me hope and ultimately became the foundation on which I’ve built my personal brand.

The small gentle voice is always there to direct you to your greater good and if you ask empowering questions, you will receive empowering answers.

On the other hand, if you ask disempowering questions, you will receive disempowering answers.

It’s a Universal Law…“Ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be opened unto you.”

Just be careful what you ask for and which door you knock on because you will receive exactly what you ask for.

The Power of Questions

In 2010 and 2011, I had thoughts of ending my life multiple times.

I believe most people have these types of disempowering thoughts, yet some of us are not afraid to share that we do.

It’s the darkness which lives within all of us.

Yet, the real question is will you learn how to Awaken the Giant Within you, to harness the power of your darkness so you can shine your brightest light?

Here are some questions for you to consider:

  1. What questions are you asking yourself right now and are these questions empowering or disempowering?
  2. What’s one empowering question you could ask yourself right now that would lead to an answer that would transform your life?
  3. If you acted on the answer as soon as possible, what would be the positive impact of your actions on your life and business?
