I remember when I first started online. I thought all I needed was a website. Ha! Boy was I in for a ride.

After years of struggle I finally discovered the truth. I needed traffic to the website, meaning people visiting it.

Then I learned, just because I had traffic, didn’t equate to dollars.

At the time of this post, Twitter is one of the most powerful platforms for creating organic traffic to your website.

Within a matter of a few days you can make hundreds of thousands of impressions and reach your target market.

What does your platform need to look like to take advantage of all the traffic?

The strategy is simple. Your website must be able to capture leads.

You need to have some type of lead magnet (opt-in offer) that solves the “Big Ass Problem” of your target market.

This can be in the form of a PDF, audio program, video, etc. You need some form of content to solve the needs of your target market.


Many people are asking people to opt-in (give their name and email address in exchange for a free gift) for a newsletter.

 No one wants more email. Create a really good offer. Do not be afraid to give away the farm.

Understand in today’s marketplace information flows like water. If you do not give them the answer, someone else will.

Use this opportunity to prove to them you know your stuff.


By now you should understand the key to making money on Twitter is to use the social platform to drive organic traffic to your website, where you have a free offer to build your list.

The real secret to making money on Twitter is having an automated follow up sequence.

You must learn to think like a master marketer. The question becomes, “How can you train a prospect to a transaction?”

What pieces of content (audio, video, ebooks, etc) can you drip out over a 4 to 10 day period and then ask for the sale or the appointment.

One of my favorite things to do is ask the prospect to schedule a complimentary session with me. I tell them this is my way of saying thank you for being on my list.

I use Wufoo.com to create an application and this let’s me know what’s going on in the prospect’s world and how I can best help them.

I then have the session with them, help them with a couple of issues and then ask for the sale.


Twitter is one of the most powerful platforms for reaching your target market now and driving immense amounts of organic traffic to your website.

In order to make money on Twitter, you have to have a solid marketing funnel to capture leads and then train a prospect to transaction.
