I have taught as CreativeLive, been named one of the top 10 business coaches in the world, co-founded and received record deals with a Christian Rock Band, and have fallen in love with marketing and promotion. It sounds crazy to think about what I have experienced in the last decade and how the lessons have shaped me.
In October of 2009, my Rock career came to a close. Back then, I had an identity as a rock star. And looking back, I discovered what I enjoyed most about my music career was more of the marketing than the music. Once I had this realization and the band broke up, I decided to jump fully into the online marketing game.
My goal was to build a business that allowed me to work from anywhere in the world from my laptop.
I didn’t know how I was going to make that happen or what it would fully look like. But between burning the midnight oil and digging ditches during the day by the time 2011 rolled around I had launched a social media marketing agency and closed my first client for $2400.
I started this podcast to share what I have learned and to help people remember who they truly are. I’ve learned when we remember who we — the Soul in Control — creating the next level of success and fulfillment becomes a natural extension of who we are.
