In today’s episode,  Learning to live in forgiveness is about finding your personal power and living life on your terms.  It is not about the person you are forgiving.

In life, you go through 4 phases.  Life happens as you, to you, by you, and finally through you.  When you accept that you are not defined by your past, then you are able to be grateful for every experience you have had, even the horrible ones, because they helped to shape you.  When the bad things in your life don’t define you, then you are able to use them to refine you.

What You’ll Hear In This Episode

Bad things do happen in this world.  Hurt people often hurt people.  When you are hurt, you have a choice on how to respond to the hurt.

You can choose to believe you are a victim and life is happening to you.

You can choose to believe you are the soul in control and you can own your emotions and thoughts and actions.

You can even choose to allow God to work through you and give up the need to control others, to make them feel bad for what they have done.

  • Why is forgiveness important?

Forgiveness is about freeing yourself from the bondage of victimhood.  It is about accepting that someone has hurt you and you can either accept the blessing in the tragedy or cling to the tragedy in the blessing.

  • What is forgiveness?

Forgiveness is the choice to stop feeling angry or resentful toward another person for an offense, flaw, or mistake.

To choose to forgive is to own your own power of choice, to own your present and your future.  You cannot change the past but you can choose to no longer allow past definition to define your current self or your future self.

  • How do we forgive?

Remember that each of us is a soul seeking to find itself and fulfill purpose in this world.

Love is not always experienced in a singular form.  Romans 8:28 teaches us that all things, not just some things, but in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

When we remember… I have sent you nothing but angels, we can begin to seek the beauty in the pain.

  • If you choose to forgive…

You find a greater experience of this life when you take your life to a new level of peace, power, and prosperity by choosing to forgive.

If you forgive, you let go of the hold that pain and anger have had on your life.  You get to choose to seek the lesson in the struggle.
